Mission Statement

The mission of the Regional Academic Standards Academy (RASA) is to provide an inclusive community of students, staff, and families working together to foster student achievement, build self-worth, develop appropriate social skills, and respect the uniqueness of each other. Students will engage in exemplary educational programs tailored to various learning styles. A positive environment is created for students to achieve the academic goals that are defined by the Pennsylvania State Standards. A strong social service component including a Family Center compliments the academic preparation and prepares students to be lifelong learners.

The vision of RASA is to provide a comprehensive educational program, which includes:

• high academic and behavioral expectations
• support from interdisciplinary units to develop well-rounded students
• a strong emphasis on diagnostic, prescriptive, and student-centered instruction in language arts and math
• the integration of technology in all curricular areas to obtain information, communicate, and solve problems
• building and supporting the students’ prior knowledge and growth through extended learning
• academic interventions and support through and beyond the school day
• a structured learning experience with small class sizes and an extended school day
• emphasis on developing higher order thinking skills.
